Water Quality Updates & Notifications

APRIL 26, 2026 UPDATE

The one well that exceeded the maximum contaminant level (MCL) for hexavalent chromium has been offline, and no new quarterly notice is required for distribution until June 2026.  Please see below for the District's active notification regarding its exceedence of the hexavalent chromium MCL standard.

The Central Water District distributed the below notice on February 3, 2026.  This is not an emergency.  However, the District is actively working with the State to address this exceedance.  Quarterly updates will be provided until the District meets with this standard.  Per current regulations, a water system of our size is not considered in violation until after October 1, 2028.
